Battle of the Pop Princesses: Ariana Grande, Demi Lovato & Meghan Trainor

Four for four. Between the seductive "Dangerous Woman", dance perfect "Be Alright" and slightly naughty "Let Me Love You" with Lil Wayne, we can't keep count of the gems featured on Ariana Grande's upcoming third studio album. Well, the blossoming pop princess just reached new, exciting heights with the fourth track ripped from the anticipated project. "Into You" throws Grande onto the dancefloor where she rightfully belongs, with a Max Martin-produced banger that's destined to set the charts ablaze.

"Into You" may be the fourth tease from Grande's album, but there's still no telling what direction she's primarily leaning towards in terms of sound and style. Perfect for high-ponytail hair twirls in the nearest neon-lit club, the artist gets into heated, scandalous territory as she tempts her man to make a move. Immediately, the song taps into some unearthed, 90s-like pop beats that assist with Grande's convincing seduction techniques. It's like a moth drawn to a technicolor flame.

The conversation surrounding Grande's next project has been the mature approach to the revealing songwriting. The artist is not playing the part of the innocent schoolgirl this time around, instead embracing her sexuality with successful end results. "So baby, come light me up and maybe I'll let you on it, a little bit dangerous, but baby, that's how I want it, a little less conversation, and a little more touch my body," she coos on the insanely catchy, radio-dominating chorus.

After a few dozen listens in a row, this golden bop is a track you won't mind having stuck in your head the rest of the day. Grande's greatest musical achievement to date, there I said it. Is "Into You" the official second single from Dangerous Woman? Does Ariana Grande have a dance smash on her hands?

She may not be releasing a brand new album anytime soon (though 2015s Confident is a pop triumph that didn't get enough credit), but that's not stopping rising pop rebel Demi Lovato from releasing brilliant new efforts with a pristine, disco shine. For her contribution to the upcoming Angry Birds film soundtrack, the artist has accepted the daunting challenge of covering gay 1978 classic "I Will Survive" by the le-gen-dary Gloria Gaynor. And Lovato does not falter for one second.

The new version of "I Will Survive" keeps intact the disco brilliance for the 2016 music loving public. We all knew Lovato could sing the house down, her powerhouse vocals surpass those of her pop counterparts, but on the empowering cover, the artist holds her own with an emotive, powerful and commanding performance that would make Gaynor proud. She does not try to add or subtract anything here, just an honest, spot-on rendition.

Lovato seems to be the butt of cruel jokes over social media, they have even overshadowed her music career achievements, but Gaynor's song of strength now has a new meaning for the "Stone Cold" songstress. The jealously of the irrelevant will not keep her down. "It took all the strength I had, not to fall apart, kept trying hard to mend, the pieces of my broken heart," she sings with both class and sass, as that memorable, infectious beat supports Lovato on a glimpse of what an album of full disco material could sound like.

The idea of covering a song as popular and irreplaceable as "I Will Survive" always comes with some hesitancy and doubts, however, if anyone could bring the dancefloor hit into 2016, the only person for the job is Lovato. Did she do the track justice? Could we see the updated version on the charts soon?

Like it or not, but no one can craft catchy pop tunes quite like Best New Artist GRAMMY recipient Meghan Trainor. Now that "NO", the lead single off her upcoming sophomore album, is a bonafide hit, the artist can look ahead to new ways on how to command the radio airwaves. While the follow-up efforts ("Watch Me Do", "I Love Me", "Mom") have come and gone with lackluster reception, it appears the album's official second single "Me Too" could put the project back on the right track.

"Me Too" continues with the dance-y, uptempo pop approach that made the lead album single such a welcomed, refreshing success. With bouncy, entertaining beats, Trainor sings about the importance of self-love and needing the approval of no one else, but herself. The artist's vocal performance is grounded and confident, the synth-influenced production is perfect for the club, or living room floor, and the attitude is what is to be expected from a soon-to-be pop princess.

Now, the new track doesn't come in flawless form. Trainor has always struggled with singing of strength and independence without the use of cheesy, cliched lyrics. It's really no different here. "I walk in like a dime piece, I go straight to VIP, I never pay for my drinks, my entourage behind me," she sings before thanking God for making her as perfect as she thinks she is. Overall, the confirmed second single is a worry-free, fun experiment that could have reached for higher aspirations.

There's a love-hate relationship with Meghan Trainor and her quick rise to fame. Thank You may not be the most anticipated upcoming release, but with the still-superb "NO" and now the energetic "Me Too", it's clear that the artist has new tricks under her sleeve. Is the song worthy of its single status? Does Trainor have another Top 5 hit here?
