South Korea's Health Ministry has reported 4 new cases on Wednesday bringing the total confirmed cases of MERS to 179.
They say the outbreak is at a crossroad. The government has extended the shutdown of Samsung Medical Centre in Seoul which was due to open on Wednesday. Half of those confirmed infected in the country have been traced to the hospital including the week's new cases.
The Health Ministry's Chief Poilcy Official, Kwon Deok-Cheol says, "we are at a crossroad, whether this is going to spread further or not". Total deaths reported so far is 27.
A total of 67 people who have tested positive for MERS virus have recovered and discharged from hospital since the outbreak in May while 27 have died.
In Thailand, there are still no new confirmed cases apart from that sole reported case of June 18.
