London-born Laura Kay is the owner and director of Tomfoolery, the Muswell Hill jewellery shop established by her parents, Nicki and Peter Kay, in 1994. After working in the boutique as a teenager, Kay embarked on a career in fashion retail, styling and photography, before returning to the family business in 2013.

Since she took the helm, Kay has developed the boutique beyond a gallery of vintage and contemporary jewellery into a destination for high-end pieces by celebrated independent designers from across the world, including Polly Wales, Ruth Tomlinson, Anna Sheffield and Jo Hayes Ward, alongside up-and-coming talent.
